Tag Turned Bookmark

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives.

Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #84 we are looking for projects that are not a card. Lots of scope there!

Mine looks like a tag, but is it? Well it is a tag shaped corner bookmark. It simply sits on the corner of a page as you can see from the photos below using the backing of a stack of designer paper, only crafters would do that ... LOL

This is what it would look like in a closed book ...

I simply cut the tag from designer paper, added a bit of stamping, die-cut clock, doodles, Treasure Gold, sentiment and a couple of sequins to match. The tags were cut and layered following the same principle I used in my Wanderlust Bookmark tutorial here for STAMPlorations.

Fancy creating your own non-card make, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

Splattery Congrats

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps designed by STAMPlorations owner Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'.

Today I was inspired by the warm weather we were having for the last few days. It looks as if Spring has finally sprung. I picked up the Mixed Media Elements and Art Marks stamp sets plus the Congrats Word Art Die to create a fun and colourful card following this month's challenge theme of Focus On The Sentiments.

Here it is ...

Just fun and random stamping using my favourite colours and finished off with a bold die-cut sentiment.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'. To mix it up a little, all stamps, stencils and dies - except from the Retiring category- are reduced by 10% this week in the STAMPlorations Shop, no coupon needed. Using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout will give you an added 20% off. I would love for you to take advantage of this great offer.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

Wanderlust Release Over At STAMPlorations

Hello Crafty Friends!

STAMPlorations are releasing some pretty cool stamps today in their new Wanderlust range and they are celebrating with a little Blog Hop.

I was working with some of their large Typographia Wanderlust sentiments in combination with the Wanderlust Hipster Icons. I just LOVE the Hipster Icons, they are perfect for adding a splash of colour to your cards! You might have seen me using them recently in some of my makes.

Isn't it great to make some cards without colouring! Even the deer didn't need any colouring to look good alongside the new stamps.

As you can see, they are also perfect for tall cards .... All you have to do is stamp. 😁

For my last card, I simply did some wild sponging for some wild camping.

Here are a few close-ups of today's cards.

For all the Prize Info, to check out the lovely projects my teamies made and to join the hop, pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog.

I hope you feel inspired to create your own project where sentiments are taking center stage and share it with us over at STAMPlorations either in our 'Focus On The Sentiments' April Challenge or in our Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge, if you used at least one STAMPlorations product.

No automatic alt text available.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely day!

#friendforlife

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'.

With the Grand National having been at the weekend across the Mersey, I decided to work with Deepti's Live Love Ride stamp set with a little sentiment help from Shirley's Hashtag Walkies to create a card for a horse loving friend. Here it is ...

A bit of stamping, watercolouring, brush marker colouring and die-cutting finished off with a few gems and you got a sweet little card.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'. All stamps, stencils and dies, except from the retiring category, are reduced by 10% in the STAMPlorations Shop. Using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at check out will give you an extra 20% off.

Not So Perfect Symmetry

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our Guest designer this time 'round is Majda. You can check out her makes on her blog here.

Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #83 we are looking for projects involving 'symmetry'. Lots of scope there!

When I hear symmetry, I immediately think mirror image. I already had a card made, but then decided to use it for my post here instead hence I decided to try and use a sponged background in combination with a big, bold sentiment.

As you can see, the sponging is not a perfect mirror image, nevertheless there is still some symmetry in it all.

Fancy creating your own symmetryinspired make, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

Loving Stars

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'.

To go along with this month's Challenge Theme 'Focus On The Sentiments', I decided to work with Becca's Wonderful Lifea set made up of six beautiful sentiments and four images, to create this little CAS card ...

The light of love drowns out the darkness of fear ... I had to go for stamping on white giving a hint to the dark night sky with a bold purple border.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'. To mix it up a little, all stamps, stencils and dies - except from the Retiring category- are reduced by 10% this week in the STAMPlorations Shop, no coupon needed. A Sheepish Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'.

Given that I spent Easter on a farm in Wales, I decided to entertain you with more sheepish delights using the Baa Baa set and the Clouds Stencil to create this fun card ...

I stamped the sheep first and painted them in with Mod Podge as a way of masking. I tend to use this method whenever I want to get a slightly grungy, imperfect look before sponging ink.

It had to be grungy given that we were definitely caravan camping in the mud, they had a lot of rain recently. We even got stuck in the mud and had to be pulled out by the tractor. There is always a first time ...

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'. To mix it up a little, all stamps, stencils and dies - except from the Retiring category- are reduced by 10% this week in the STAMPlorations Shop, no coupon needed. Say It Big - Special Stamp Release At STAMPlorations

Hello Crafty Friends!

Over at STAMPlorations, they are releasing some stunningly bold sentiments in their Say It Big Series today. And they are celebrating with a little blog hop too. I was working with two of the new sentiments: Shine Brightly and Sunshine. Here are my DT pieces ...

For my card, I stamped the sentiment on a brusho background and layered on sparkling black card ...

as you can see in the photo below in more detail.

The tag was simply stamped using my heat embossed sentiment in combination with the Wanderlust Hipster Icons which are due for release in a couple of weeks.

TIP!: If you don't have the colour embossing powder you need, simply stamp in dye ink using a stamping tool, then stamp again on top with Versamark and clear emboss.

Fancy hopping along for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate? Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog for all the links, leave a comment and leave a comment on all the participating designers' blogs too. Good Luck!

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!
