Endeavour Morse Inspired

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's the start of a new challenge over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making cards for the men in our lives. Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #78 we are looking for makes Inspired By Television. Lots of scope there!

I went for a make inspired by my favourite 'whodunnit' Morse, taken out of its Oxford setting and transplanted into a nautical theme mainly due to his first name being Endeavour, Nelson's flagship.

What did I take from it ...
You got the dots and dashes for morse code plus some letters and numbers - Morse in his younger years was a code breaker during WWII.
The musical score is for his love of anything Classic especially Wagner.
The lighthouse stand for him being kind of beacon, he can't be corrupted and hasn't got much time for bent cops.
The compass, well ... he follows his inner compass solving crimes.

Apart from that, the card came together using stenciling, stamping, masking and some colouring using watercolour and alcohol markers.

Fancy creating your own Television Inspired make, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

Good Luck

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick card with you using the Lighthouse - Large, the Uppercase Alphabet Plate Die and the Good Luck Word Stamp & Die set by STAMPlorations.

I went for a muted colour scheme mainly because I wanted to use the negative from the Alphabet Die in my card. I also didn't want to be precise with straight lines and purposefully cut some wonky lines, highlighted of course by some doodles.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog for more Roundup Inspiration.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

Hot Chill

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps designed by STAMPlorations owner Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'.

Inspired by a lovely sunny weekend at the caravan, I decided to work with the Zen Coffee ATCZinnia Row and Winter Chill stamps to create this grungy card inviting you to chill with a hot cuppa.

I quite like the contrast between the grungy stamped and sanded background and the touches of gold from the embossed sentiment, sequins and mirror card.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'. All her sets will be reduced by 15% until Monday 29th January. The link to their shop can be found below towards the end of my post.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

January Stencil Sunday Project

Hello, Crafty Friends!

Welcome to January's Stencil Sunday over at STAMPlorations. May I take the opportunity to remind you of their current Mixed Media Challenge. As you know Anything Mixed Media Goes as long as it is not a card and you use at least one stencil.

My DT contribution for this Stencil Sunday is ... a #selfie ATC

To create my background, I used a baby wipe to bleach the leaves from my inked ATC size card. I then highlighted some of them by doodling around them using my stencil and a sparkly black Gelli Roll.

The camera was stamped on a piece of shrink plastic and heated. The golden gel pen scribbles were added at the end.

And for all of those who like pouting, the lemon slices should help make the pout even more pronounced. 😉

I hope you feel inspired to create something different, maybe even do some up-cycling or re-purposing .... why not link it up with the Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. The theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes except cards which means projects such as tags, ATCs, canvases, layouts, art journal pages etc,are perfect for entering, and you must have used at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. The challenge will close at the end of the month. You can find the full challenge details plus more Mixed Media inspiration here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

That's it from me for today. I shall be back soon with another project to share.

Have a lovely day!

Amazing Vintage - A Real Classic

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Wednesday today and over at The Male Room challenge log their new bi-weekly challenge has started. As the name says, their challenges are all about making cards for the men in our lives. Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #77 we are looking for Vintage inspired makes. Lots of scope there!

The inside of my card will eventually read something like 'a real classic, getting better with age 😁'. I don't normally do Vintage hence I thought a little outside the box with my approach to making this card.

A bit of pretty paper, stamping, die-cutting plus a classic car image were all I needed for this cheeky take on the Vintage theme.

Fancy creating your own Vintage inspired make, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

Counting Rainbows

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'.

I decided to work with the Kathryn's Rainbow and the Droplets ARTplorations Stencil to create a sunny CAS card despite the rain drops. Here it is ...

A bit of stenciling, stamping, watercolouring and fuzzy cutting was all that was needed for this cheerful card.

I added some glittery doodles to the clouds and the rainbow which you can just about see in the above photo. And of course, Kathryn needed a flower in her hair too.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'. All her sets will be on sale at 15% off for the week until Monday, 22nd January.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!
